This is a very well crafted reverse carved 'Essex crystal' flying duck brooch, the duck highlighted in realistically coloured enamels to a white ground.
It is a light cabochon shape and is set in a 9ct yellow gold rope twist mount.
The brooch was made by renowned maker Deakin and Francis, Deakin and Francis have a superbly long history in the jewellery and silversmith trades, starting out way back in the 18th century and still in business today!
It fastens with a safety style catch and pin fastener.
It is a versatile piece that could be worn a multitude of ways from a tie pin to a brooch so would make an excellent choice for gifting.
