Victorian silver forget me not brooch, paste
A pretty Victorian sterling silver aesthetic forget me not brooch.
A fancy take on a bar brooch with an elongated design, engraved finely with bright cut detailing, it has a little circular wreath to the centre in a floral shape with tiny forget me not flowers.
The brooch has a large sparkly central paste stone and two smaller paste each side on the bar.
The brooch has an old C type clasp fastener and is fully hallmarked on the back for Birmingham 1892, makers mark ineligible.
The aesthetic movement began in the late 19th century and was a movement that favoured beauty and championed art for arts sake.
Condition:
Good used condition overall , slight discolouration on one of the paste on the left outer side, small hole in the back near the clasp.
Approx measurements:
2" width and 1" height.
