You will be enamored by this stunning antique, Victorian era mourning locket pendant.
Smooth highly polished rich and inky black Whitby Jet with a beautiful central gold star motif that is set with rich creamy pearls, giving it a special celestial twist.
The Chunky bale is enamelled in black over rich 15ct gold.
To the reverse there is a locket panel, bordered with a gold plated metal frame, there is a replacement perspex glazing present, currently holding an old sepia photograph of a gentleman.
Such a beautiful piece of mourning jewellery.
It comes in the original fitted antique case, the hinge on this is broken and the case is in two halves but this is a lovely addition.
A large sized Mourning locket too!

Marks and era
English make, late 19th century, Victorian era, tests as 15ct gold to the bale and star.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, a few nibbles / nicks up near the bale, some wear to the plating of the frame on the reverse, hinge of the box is broken, one pearl is a replacement.
Approx measurements:
1.5" width
2.55" length including the bale.
