A beautiful antique Victorian era mourning bracelet.
The bracelet is made from tightly woven and intertwined stands of hollow hairwork, there are two shades a medium and light brown, this tells us that the bracelet was probably crafted from the hair of two loved ones rather than one.
It has a beautiful engraved three piece gold clasp with a pretty tassel detailing.
The hair has slight elasticity to it.
The clasp is Unmarked it tests as 9ct gold, Victorian era c1870s.
Approx measurements'
9" outer circumference
0.39" width
1.3" clasp width
Would best got a wrist of 8" to 8.5" circumference but it does have some room.
Weighs approx 10.42 grams
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some wear to a small section of hair near to the clasp.
