You can't help but fall in love with this handsome antique Albert chain.
It is a dream of an Albert chain with big chunky links, a good long length and a heavy feel and weight.
A wonderfully chunky curb link Albert chain in crisp, cool sterling silver, the links are graduated and the chain fastens with a dog clip fastener which is silver plated.
The chain also has a t bar and an antique sterling silver shield type fob with a personal inscription to the reverse and a name engraved to the front; Levi Butt, 1881 - 1960.
It is a nice solid and weighty Albert chain and these are always in high demand.
A lovely antique chain, the perfect piece for displaying your favourite pocket watch and would make a lovely gift, could be worn as a necklace too!
Marks and era:
Victorian era, c1890s, fob fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham Assay office, 1897, William Hair Haseler, later engraved, chain with components dated to 1875.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, lots of aged patina and surface wear commensurate with age, dog clip is a later replacement and is silver plated, fob later engraved with some surface wear.
Total weight 83.38 grams.

Chain - 17.25" total length
Fob - 1.10" width / 1.90" length with bale
T bar 1.5" width
Links 10mm width at the widest point
