A superb antique, late Victorian shamrock and knot brooch.
Rich bloomed 9ct gold loops which swirl into a lovers knot in the centre provide the body of this brooch.
Combining two powerful symbols in jewellery the lovers knot is adorned with a three leaf shamrock, each leaf set with a rich red garnet.
It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener.
A well made brooch with lots detailing and symbolism.
This brooch can be worn in many ways and is an attractive and versatile piece, it would look great adorning a lapel or cravat or even securing your favourite antique long chain.
The brooch is marked 9ct to the reverse, tests as 9ct gold, c1890s, late Victorian era.
