An impressive antique Middle Eastern intaglio ring.
A true statement piece, this is a huge and heavy gents bombe style ring set with a large carved Carnelian intaglio set to the front.
The Carnelian is carved with a primitive mythical creature, possibly a Griffin or lion and is a deep red with veining.
The large bombe shaped silver setting is heavily detailed with applied and engraved designs some set with turquoise and coral coloured hardstones, channelling bohemian Moroccan vibes.
It is Unmarked and tests as 800 silver, c1910s.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, there are some surface marks / scratches, commensurate with age and use, some hardstones with nicks / cracks but main stone very good.
Approx weight: 53.40 g.
Ring face approx 45mm length, ring has approx 40mm depth and the Carnelian intaglio is approx 30mm
