The keeper ring is a classic and highly sought after ring style, always in high demand and this antique Edwardian era keeper ring is one of our favourites.
The face is made up from a scrolling knot with rose gold beading, this ring is very finely crafted and the finest attention to detail can be seen and felt throughout.
The face neatly leads to the heavy trifurcated shoulders and the smooth, chunky gold band.
The ring is crafted in a rich 18ct yellow gold with a warm inviting glow and soft rose gold highlights.
It is a weighty piece and this would make a wonderful gift or a great stackable piece for your collection.
It is a treat to find them and this one really stands out with its quality craftsmanship.
There are a number of stories behind the origins of the keeper ring stretching far back to the Georgian eras.
One was that they were worn as guard rings when jewels were worn over gloved hands, another and perhaps the most commonly known is that they are used to hold or keep more expensive rings in place by wearing them above.
The other and the most romantic version of the origin is that they were worn as pre marriage rings, basically saying that the intended wearer was a keeper.
