Antique Spider and Web brooch, 9ct gold, Mother of pearl

A gorgeous and rare antique brooch.

Art Deco design at its very finest this brooch lends some of its style from the Victorian obsession of insect related jewels with the Art Deco craze of spider webs and cobweb themes.

It has a 9ct gold bezel frame housing mother of pearl, hand enamelled with an inky black spiders web, the Web has a mounted 9ct gold spider set with a small turquoise paste cabochon.

The brooch is marked 9ct and has a Pat number dating it to c1921.

A small but mighty statement brooch with so much character and style, this one really stands out from the crowd and is perhaps one of my favourite spider pieces to date.

Perfect worn as a brooch or lapel pin.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, surface wear commensurate with age and use.
