The sweetest little antique Georgian era Ouroboros mourning brooch or pin.
Georgian Ouroboros jewels are increasingly difficult to find and a highly popular choice in mourning jewellery.
They embody the sentiment of the neverending, infinity and in the sense of a loved one not forgotten and it was this connection with the everlasting that meant they were often used in mourning jewellery.
This gorgeous little mourning brooch is crafted in 9ct gold, the front has a glazed central panel, enclosing a lock of nearly plaited brown hair.
It's dainty size indicates that it was probably worn as a lace pin or fichu pin.
It fastens with a pin and old c clasp fastening.

Unmarked, electronically tests as 9ct gold, late Georgian era c1800s.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, some tiny dings and minor areas of discolouration.
