This handsome antique, Edwardian era
9ct gold and Bloodstone signet ring has everything you could wish for in a signet ring!
It is a stylish and bold ring, perfect as a pinky ring, it has an oval face set with a rich dark green Bloodstone, this has not been carved so the stone could be personalised if desired with your initials or crest.
It has chunky engraved gold shoulders leading on to the 9ct gold band.
The bloodstone has a good colour range with some translucent areas.
Also stacks nicely with other rings.
Signet rings derive their name from the Latin for signature, they were popular throughout history in men's jewellery and were often carved with family crests or signatures and used as stamps or intaglios, later they remained popular as a fashion choice and they have remained a popular piece of mens jewellery since their creation.
This ring has been well loved and worn but still has a lot to give.
Marks and era:
Art Deco era, marked 9ct and makers mark, no date letter, c1910s
