A gorgeous antique Aesthetic era locket brooch.
Steeped in sentiment this beautiful brooch has stacks of symbolism.
It is a rectangular shape in sterling silver with a applied 9ct yellow gold swallow and a rose gold owl.
Swallows were seen as a promise to return or safe journey symbol whilst owls amongst other things symbolised wisdom.

The brooch has an old C type clasp and pin fastener, the pin is base metal.
The aesthetic movement began in the late 19th century and was a movement that favoured beauty and championed art for arts sake.
