An attractive antique, early Edwardian era shield shaped signet ring.
I love the shape of the old shield rings, they look so good when worn and mix well with other pieces.
This ring has a nice smooth aged patina a light rose gold with a rich colour and decorative shoulders.
A smaller size, the front of the shield is engraved with the initials JL in fancy script, it also could pass as a single H so would be a good gift for those initial groups,or a nice treat for yourself.
Signet rings were the original signature ring either carved or stone set then carved, designed to stamp the name or crest into wax much like a seal.
Resize 1 size max to avoid distortion of the shield.
It is marked 9ct, L, English make, early Edwardian era.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, a nice rich patina.
Approx weight: 2.6g.
UK/AU ring size L
US ring size 5½
EU ring size 51 ¾
