A gorgeous antique, Victorian era Whitby Jet bangle.
Carved shiny, polished jet panels strung onto black elastic, graduating in size to the large front panel.
The front features a large oval panel with a hand carved depiction of a lovers knot, very nicely carved.
Probably a mourning piece with Whitby Jet being a popular material in mourning jewelry and the lovers knot having great sentiment and feeling.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, probably restrung in the past, signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
Approx measurements:
8.75" total outer circumference (not stretched)
1.75" width / height at the front
1.25" - 1" height / width of panels
