A beautiful pair of antique Victorian mourning earrings.
They are circular form with worked, and weaved brown hair, the hairwork is fixed with high carat yellow gold bands and the centre has high profile moulded gold geometric beading.
This gives the earrings almost a floral look.
The yellow gold is very rich and bright, unmarked but test as 22ct +
They have post backs, both marked 9ct and gold butterfly fasteners, these are a replacement and have been replaced with glue which can be seen at the back.
Mid Victorian era, c1870's
Condition:
Very good used condition overall, some minor surface wear commensurate with age, the replaced posts have been done rather messily, probably a home made job and glue residue can be seen at the back, cannot be seen at the front though, a few tiny straying hairs.
Approx measurements:
0.5" length
0.5" width
0.25" depth
5.31 gram total weight
