A beautiful vintage Art Deco era Jadeite Jade bead necklace.
Lovely minty green beads, with beautiful variations in the colourway from almost white to darker streaks and naturally occurring spots within, all delicately hand shaped and tightly knotted onto a cotton thread.
The beads are all imperfectly oval shaped being hand crafted and the time and patience that has gone into creating this piece is evident, the beads are graduated in size.
The jade beads are a good size, approx 9mm x 15mm largest beads and rather heavy, that is a lot of gemstone and you can feel you are wearing this necklace.
The necklace has a 9ct gold spring ring clasp, Unmarked, c1930s.
A classic and timeless piece.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, some light surface wear on the beads, some with small nicks.
Approx measurements:
22" total length
Beads approx 9mm x 15mm max size.
Weigh approximately 65 grams.
