You can't go wrong with a good pair of fun vintage cufflinks and that's exactly what these are.
Modelled in sterling silver these Aer Deco era cufflinks feature reverse painted rock crystal cabochons or Essex crystal as it is known.
These cufflinks feature ducks in flight.
The crystal cabochons is carefully carved and hand painted in reverse from the reverse flat side of the cab to produce the 3d effect we see on these pieces.
They are really like miniature works of art with some of the more finer artworks or those by renowned artists commonly fetching prices in the thousands.
The popularity rose in the 19th and early 20th centuries leading to more being made and more manufacturers jumping on the bandwagon making them more affordable and easily obtained, Essex crystal pieces are highly sought after and revered by collectors.
