Antique Victorian paste snake hair comb, celluloid

A beautiful antique, late Victorian hair comb.

Made from celluloid, it is a large comb, a back comb, named so as it is designed to be worn at the back of the head.

This is a particularly pretty example adorned across the top with glistening foiled back paste stones in white / silver with two garnet red paste accents making a snake design with the red being the eyes.

The paste are set into a cut steel setting and affixed to the top of the comb.

Late Victorian era c1890's.

Good condition overall, some age commensurate wear, no cracks, no missing stones.
