Antique Victorian Lava cameo pendant, 9ct Rose gold

An exceptional Victorian lava cameo pendant.

This is an expertly carved lava cameo, reminiscent of the Italian masters in very high relief.

It has a fine portrait of Dionysus, The God of Wine in Greek mythology he was also known for fertility, theatre and madness, quite a mix.

The lava cameo is housed in a smooth oval 9ct Rose gold frame with a chunky gold bale.

This is a piece that could quite sufficiently be worn on its own and stand out.

Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold.

Condition:
Very good used condition overall, light surface wear to the gold.

A very nice fine piece for the collection.
