A beautiful antique, Victorian era ladies silver pocket watch by Thomas Russell.
The watch is very nicely designed with a silvered dial and applied gold Roman Numerals with blued steel hands.
The dial has a pretty floral motif in very low relief to the centre.
It has an attractive silver gilt bow and it is very finely engraved on the back with a scrolling floral design and a central cartouche which is not monogrammed so could be personalised.
It is a machine made lever watch with the original jewels set inside the movement.
The movement is branded for Thomas Russell and Sons and Russell's patented click, Thomas Russell was a renowned and well respected maker producing high quality watches.
The inner cuvette is fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Chester, 1878.
It comes with a replacement key.
The watch is working, winds well and is ticking, runs for a few hours so will require a service to get it up to optimal performance.
Condition:
Very good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, outer case occasionally pops open, small internal defect on the glass cover to the side.
Approx 1.75" width, 2.5" height with bow and 0.5" depth.
Weight approx 69.7g
Please note that following travel it may need to be reset / rebalanced prior to winding.
