Victorian silver bangle, cuff, aesthetic era
Victorian silver bangle, cuff, aesthetic era
A beautiful Victorian sterling silver cuff bangle.
Pretty aesthetic style engraving featuring flowers, foliate and a swallow in flight, the engraving spans across the front of the bangle and it has a plain back.
The swallow in Victorian jewellery representing amongst other things safe passage and returning home from travel, perhaps a gift from a sailor to his love as a promise to return home.
Chunky 1" width with a wavy rim, push catch opening, marked on the inner with real silver band.
Condition:
Overall condition is good, used, has a historic repair to one side near the catch, snaps closed securely, some small dings, surface wear commensurate with age.
Just under 8" circumference.
It weighs approx 28.70 grams.
