Vintage 9ct yellow gold skinny ring

I love the sweet simplicity of this vintage 9ct gold double snake ring.

It is a skinny snake ring so works well with other rings too! It features two snakes coiled together at the face with the bodies making up the band.

The gold is textured to give the snakes a lifelike feel.

Snake jewellery catapulted into fashion in the Victorian era owing in part to Prince Albert gifting a snake ring to Queen Victoria and they often symbolised eternal love.

Snakes were of course used in jewellery much earlier than the Victorian era though with the ancient Egyptian's believing they had the power to cure and heal.
