An astonishing Victorian whitby jet necklace and pendant.
Flat carved and highly polished, domed oval jet beads, all strung tightly together with a pretty integral pendant drop.
The pendant is suspended from a jet ring and is a teardrop shape with an intricate carving of flowers to the front.
The necklace fastens with a carved matte jet bead and rod fastener.
Such a grand and magnificent piece of Victorian Whitby Jet jewellery, this is a real statement piece.
Whitby jet was often found in mourning jewellery but also became quite a must have high fashion too.
Condition:
Very good used condition overall, very well kept, some light surface wear, some small nicks to the reverse of the beads.
