A gorgeous Victorian, chunky Whitby jet carved bangle.
Chunky jet beads with finely carved designs, there are two highly polished faceted smaller beads, a large central carved panel with the rest made up of similar attractively carved beads.
They have been restrung and are currently strung on a black slightly expanding wire twist.
This is a real statement piece and a lovely piece of Victorian jet jewellery.
Jet was a popular choice of material for Victorian mourning jewellery but dark jewellery also had its place as a highly desired form of jewellery for fashion.
Condition:
Very good used condition overall, some age commensurate surface wear, more to the reverse of the beads, one small bead chipped, see photos.
Approx measurements:
1.5" largest bead length
8.5" total outer circumference
1" length smaller beads
Would best fit between 6.5" - 7.5" wrist
