A beautiful Victorian sterling silver locket designed in the aesthetic manner.
This locket is packed with Victorian sentiment, engraved to the front centre with ivy leaves, symbolising the everlasting, the leaves are surrounded by a border of forget me not flowers slightly raised in relief.
The outer rim is also decorated with line engraving and intermittent triangular cartouche.
The reverse has been engraved with the monogram MG in fancy script and also bears the hallmarks.
Fully Hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham, 1882, makers mark present but rubbed.
Internally it has the lion passant and date letter.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, lots of rich patina, light surface wear and scratches commensurate with age, mostly internally, no glass covers.
