A most beautiful and elaborate, antique, Victorian era sterling silver collar necklace.
This is one of the most extravagant examples I have seen and there is so much detailing on this piece you are not sure where to look first.
It has two rows of double rolo links adjoined to one another in alternate directions, each link section has a tiny applied silver flower.
There is silver beading to the edge of the chain along with leaf shaped embellishments in between each bead.
Despite its very large size it is not too heavy when worn and remains comfortable.
A staple piece of Victorian jewellery and as wearable in this era as it was then.
It has a large antique silver spring ring fastener which can also be used to hang a locket or pendant.
Unmarked, tests as sterling silver, c1880s.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear and patina commensurate with age, a few small dings and some wear to some Links, there are a few beads missing from the edge.
Approx measurements:
17" length including spring ring
0.75" width
