A chunky little Victorian Pinchbeck mourning locket.
Rich golden Pinchbeck with the warm glow that you normally see on old High carat gold.
It has equally beautiful sides, one with an engraved star motif and the other with an engraved and embossed floral design.
It has a wavy rim and opens to reveal a glazed compartment to one side set with a single lock of light coloured hair.
A very attractive little locket, perfect alone on a nice long chain or for layering with other pieces.
Condition:
Very good used condition overall with signs of age and use, a few small marks and a little area of wear to the centre of the star.
Approx measurements:
1.5" height with bale
1" width
9.81 grams weight
