A pretty antique sterling silver brooch with a horseshoe and crop design
The brooch is a quatrefoil shape with a horseshoe and crop on light relief with foliate designs.
It has beading all around the outer rim and the reverse has a locket back but no glazing.
A lovely antique brooch designed in the aesthetic manner with a dose of good luck, perfect for the lover of equestrian themed jewellery too!
Marks and era:
Fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham, 1891, maker S Bros.
Approx measurements:
1.25" width
1.25" length
Weighs approx 5.16 grams
Condition:
Fair used condition overall, some signs of use and wear commensurate with age, small dings to the front, locket back has no glazing, beading has small air holes from manufacture, brooch fastener is a later replacement.
