I adore antique Scottish jewellery and this gorgeous antique Scottish sterling silver, agate and Cairngorm paste brooch is just the ticket.
Modelled on the designs of the Victorian Scottish agate pieces this attractive brooch is a scalloped oval shape, set to the centre with a large faceted Cairngorm paste stone on a rich citrine yellow colour.
The outer rim is adorned with half circle slabs of Scottish agate including bloodstone and red Jasper.
This is beautiful versate piece and would look great adorning a jacket lapel or even as a scarf or shawl pin.
It has an old c type clasp and pin fastener.
Marks and era:
Marked Made in Britain, tests as sterling silver, c1910s
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear and patina commensurate with age, some nibbles to the edges of the agates.
Approx measurements:
1.45" width
1.25" length
Weighs approx 8.63 grams
