Antique Sapphire and Diamond crescent brooch, 15ct gold, Victorian

This magnificent antique Victorian era crescent moon brooch is really something special.

Finely crafted in rich 15ct gold it is a bar style brooch with lovely rich blue sapphire terminals to each end.

To the centre it features a wonderful crescent moon decked in beautiful sparkling old cut diamonds and the deep royal blue sapphires.

There are approx 0.50ct of diamonds in total.

The moon is fronted with sterling silver highlighting the cool crisp diamonds and dreamy sapphires.

Just above the crescent there is a single creamy pearl adding a touch of softness to the piece.

Crescent moons were a popular motif in Victorian jewellery, they are attributed to a number of meanings from feminine strength to changes or new beginnings / chapters.

This brooch can be worn in many ways and is a stunning, versatile piece, it would look great worn on a lapel or even affixed across your favourite gold chain for a celestial twist, it has a small hook fitting to the reverse along with the old c type clasp and pin fastener.
