An interesting antique sterling silver stamp case pendant.
The case is very well designed with engraved lettering and flowers and rich cobalt blue enamelling, the case is modelled as a little miniature book with lots of finer details.
It has an interesting pull out tray with an oval cut out for stamps to be stored and seen through the viewer.
Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, Maker Crisford and Norris.
A nice early stamp case and a heavy little piece.
It comes on a later vintage sterling silver chain, it could also be used as an albertina or watch chain fob.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, lots of rich patina, some light surface wear and tear, some enamel chipped / worn, commensurate with age.
Approx measurements:
Stamp case - 1.10" height
0.9" width
Chain - 20" length
Weight approx 12.79 grams combined.
