A dainty and sweet little antique seal fob.
Crafted in 9ct gold, it is a tiny sized fob with a simple design, set with a foiled back amethyst.
The matrix has been carved with the words Dinna Forget in fancy script.
Dinna Forget is Scottish Dialect for do not forget, often given as love tokens from a man to a woman or vice versa, it was originally taken from an old romantic Scottish poem Dinna Forget Me.
These pieces are highly popular today and this little seal could be worn as a dainty pendant or used as a bracelet charm.
The mount has some wear but the seal matrix could be remounted if desired.
Marks and era:
It is unmarked, tests as 9ct gold, Victorian era c1870s
Condition:
Fair used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, some wear top with the arches a little bent and a small hole near one, some denting to the rim.
