An impeccable antique, mid Victorian era, sterling silver cigar case.
A large sized case heavily engraved with strapwork detailing, it has rounded corners and a push button catch, hinged lid.
One of the most beautifully decorated cigar cases, made in England and fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham assay, 1877 by George Unite, along with the bust of Queen Victoria.
Very well made it is lined with a deep red Moroccan leather and has a vacant circular cartouche to the front so it could be personalised.
Approx measurements:
5" length
2.75" width
1" depth
Approx weight 134 grams.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, some wear to the leather lining, small shallow ding to top of the lid.
