A gorgeous antique, Victorian era star brooch.
A small but chunky little brooch crafted in sterling silver with an aged patina.
The star has a large open backed paste stone set to the centre and this is surrounded by a number of smaller foil backed paste stones giving plenty of twinkle and sparkle.
The stones have a bluish hue from the foil when hitting certain lights giving a cool light sparkle.
It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener, c clasp has been replaced previously and is base metal.
A pretty little star brooch, this would look great adorning a lapel or as part of a neck mess across a chain.
Unmarked, mid Victorian era, C1870s, tests as sterling silver.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age and use, overall patina, c clasp replaced previously and is base metal.
Approx measurements:
1.10" length with bale
1" width
Weight approx 4.33 grams.
