A beautiful curved moon with a pastry cutter texture with an almost star like pattern by a renowned maker of the era and beyond.
The brooch is made from sterling silver and is fully hallmarked.
Crescent moons were a popular motif in Victorian and later Edwardian jewellery, they are attributed to a number of meanings from feminine strength to changes or new chapters.
It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener.

Fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Charles Horner, Chester assay office, 1900
Approx measurements:
1.03" width
1" height
Weighs approx 4.07 grams
Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, light surface wear, overall patina, slight bend at one of the end points of the moon.
