Vintage 14ct yellow gold Spider and Web pendant

Spider lover or not you are bound to fall in love with this wonderful vintage spider and spider web pendant.

The spider and spider web motifs are much harder to find in pendant form with most adorning brooches, the Victorian's began somewhat of an obsession with insect and animal jewellery and this continued on through the Edwardian era, into the Art Deco period and beyond.

This pendant is crafted in a lovely rich 14ct yellow gold and the spider has a chunky body.

Spiders have been used in jewellery for many centuries though with ancient examples aplenty, they have many meanings too from; resourcefulness, cunning, good luck, happiness and hard work, wisdom and craftsmanship, plus many, many more.

Marked on the reverse 14k and 585 for 14ct gold, c1980s

Condition:
Good used overall with signs of use and some light surface wear commensurate with age.
