This is truly one of the most beautiful antique mourning brooches I have seen, so elegant and stylish, it's hard to believe that it is over a hundred years old.
Crafted in 15ct yellow gold it is designed as a branch with a single flower to the centre, the branch is enamelled in a rich inky black enamel with a very slightly matte finish.
The ends of the branch are not enamelled allowing a little flash of gold to shine through.
The flower is set with creamy pearls and the centre features a gorgeous twinkling old mine cut diamond.
This piece will surely be a go to piece of jewellery for many years to come.
A fine and exceptional piece of mourning jewellery.
Marks and era:
Unmarked, tests as 15ct gold, late Victorian era, c1890s
Condition:
Good used condition overall, wear commensurate with age and use, very well kept.
Approx measurements:
2.10" width
0.60" height
Weighs approx 4.96 grams
