A beautiful antique, French Art Nouveau era enamelled fairy brooch.
This is such an unusual piece of antique jewellery, very unique in its design, the centre features an enamelled celluloid plaque depicting a pair of fairies in a garden, there are jewelled red and blue enamel accents.
The mount is an elaborate filigree frame with curved lines and intricate detailing in 18ct gold coated with silver.
The brooch has two small old cut diamonds set either side that give a lovely twinkle in the light.
The reverse has remnants of the old paper label and the brooch has a trombone type fastener.
Unmarked tests a 18ct gold, French make, c1910s
Approx measurements:
1.3" width
1.55" length
Weighs approx 7.07 grams
Condition:
Good used condition overall, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, small chip on the top reverse can be seen on the top front as a lighter area.
