Antique 15ct gold Mourning ring, United, White enamel, Victorian

Such a wonderfully beautiful and unique antique mourning ring.

Being a lover of mourning jewels this ring does not disappoint, everything about it is a delight.

It is a scarce piece, crafted in the early Victorian era from rich and buttery 15ct yellow gold, it has a stepped design band, the raised squares decorated in white enamel and spelling out the word: United.

To the face is a small glazed hair compartment holding a lock of dark hair.

This is a genuine antique gem of a ring, filled with sentiment and beauty, incredibly well made, white enamel was often used for young people and children in mourning jewellery though there is no name or date on this one.

Marks and era:
Early Victorian era, unmarked, tests as 15ct gold.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, minor nicks to the enamel in areas, some verdigris and debris under the hair panel probably from water seep.
