Vintage Art Deco sterling silver and Iris glass riviere necklace

A vintage paste Riviere necklace is a fantastic addition to any vintage jewellery collection, even moreso when it is made from the wonderfully pretty Iris glass.

This necklace has all the sparkle without the price tag making it the perfect piece to take out and about on your travels or an evening out as it is really a stand out yet elegant piece.

She is made from sterling silver set with striking iris glass paste stones, each one has the most wonderful faceted cut with a beautiful twinkle and a gorgeous array of colours from blues and pinks to green and clear.

Iris glass is a beautiful type of glass first seen in the 1900s and designed to mimic the colour spectrums of clear quartz, it is also known unsurprisingly as rainbow glass.

You will really feel like a queen with this necklace and it is guaranteed to add a touch of glam to any ensemble.

The paste are claw set into silver bezels and it fastens with a spring ring fastener.

Marks and era:
Unmarked, electronically tests as sterling silver, c1930s.

Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear and patina commensurate with age, a few paste with nibbles to the facet edges.
