If you like them chunky then this one is for you!
This vintage 9ct yellow gold keeper ring is a more modern vintage take on the classic and timeless style that has enamoured us for decades.
This one has a chunky high face with engraved shoulders and a smooth band in a rich yellow gold with a healthy weight to it.
The keeper ring is a classic and highly sought after ring style and there are a number of stories behind the origins of the keeper ring stretching far back to the Georgian eras.
One was that they were worn as guard rings when jewels were worn over gloved hands, another and perhaps the most commonly known is that they are used to hold or keep more expensive rings in place by wearing them above.
The other and the most romantic version of the origin is that they were worn as pre marriage rings, basically saying that the intended wearer was a keeper.
Marks and era:
Fully hallmarked for 9ct gold, common control mark, Birmingham assay office, c1990s.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, the beaded areas have some minor dings, band has a little wear and is slightly off round.
Approx weight: 7.06g.
