A stunning antique Victorian sterling silver AEI locket pendant.
This is a really unusual example, normally we see the letters in fancy or gothic script but this locket has these strong, chunky and bold applied letters giving a 3d effect.
It really is a wonderful locket, crafted in sterling silver with a rececessed and beaded border to the front and back, further adding to the three dimensional feel.
What does AEI stand for? Amity, Eternity, Infinity or some people choose to interpret it as Affinity rather than Amity and it basically means love everlasting, love greater than time itself, a very romantic and sentimental statement.
The locket is Unmarked, it tests as sterling silver.
Internally it has cobalt blue cotton linings each side and a glazed panel to one side.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, one glazed panel only.
Approx measurements:
