A gorgeous antique, early Victorian mourning ring.
12ct yellow gold band with cut out design and delicate engraving, the band had an enamel inlay originally but this is no longer present, could be re-enamelled if desired.
The front of the ring houses an oval black carved Sardonyx stone depicting a forget me not flower.
Rich in sentiment this pretty mourning ring is early Victorian era and has been loved and cherished, the wear to the engraving indicates this piece was worn often, the ring was likely a symbol of someone very close and cherished by the wearer.
Fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1865, 12ct gold, marks worn but visible.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, surface wear and rubbing to the engraved areas mostly to the back of the band, enamel inlay deficient.
