This antique Turquoise and Pearl star pendant brooch is truly a magnificent piece of Late Victorian jewellery.
Stars and celestial jewels have a timeless allure that just keeps on going and they are as wearable today as they were then.
This beautiful ten point star pendant brooch is crafted from rich, buttery 15ct yellow gold with the points alternating in length, the star points are all set with creamy pearls.
To the centre there is a floral shape design adorned with vibrant turquoise cabochons and a further pearl cluster to the innermost centre.
It is extremely well crafted and very versatile, can be worn as either a brooch or a pendant, it has an old c type pin and clasp fastener with an integral hook bale, it has a gold plated safety chain attached currently but this is removable.
The ten point star is a lesser used design, some uses in Christianity bit more commonly used within Freemasonry.
Marks and era:
Late Victorian era, c1890s, stamped 15ct.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, safety chain is a replacement and is gold plated, pin is slightly bent but holds tight.
Approx measurements:
1.10" length with bale
1" width
Weight approx 5.10 grams.
