This is just a stunning and grand antique, Scottish agate and Silver brooch designed as a Celtic Cross, an attractive brooch or pin from the Victorian era.
The cool silver cross is chased and engraved to the front with a smooth reverse, the main points of the cross highlighted with polished slabs of Scottish agate including Bloodstone, Red Jasper and moss agate.
A particularly lovely example, very versatile and can be worn in many ways with a lovely unique design.
It is a fairly large sized brooch and it has an old C type clasp and pin fastener.
Marks and era:
Unmarked, tests as sterling silver, Victorian era, c1880s
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, some tiny nibbles to some edges of the agate, brass component to the fastener.
Approx measurements:
2" width
1.1" length
Weighs approx 10.98 grams
