This antique Emerald and Diamond ring exudes Victorian luxury.
It is an early Victorian piece crafted in rich 18ct yellow gold, set to the face with a row of gems, three emeralds and two old cut diamonds.
The setting has beautiful scrollwork top and bottom making this ring really beautiful from every angle.
It has a slender gold band this has remnants of a gadrooned design often seen on earlier bands but has smoother out towards the back from wear.
Emerald is a highly prized and beautiful gemstone, the birthstone of May, it was mined and revered by ancient Egyptian's including Cleopatra herself whom was said to be enamored by the stone.
These emeralds have a lush and vibrant green with natural Jardin, one emerald is darker than the other two and likely a replacement, central emerald has an approx 0.10ct estimated within the setting.
A lovely early Victorian piece, ready to be loved again.
Marks and era:
Unmarked, electronically tests as 18ct gold, early Victorian era, c1850s
