Antique Diamond star pendant brooch, 15ct gold, Onyx and black enamel

One of the most beautiful antique star pendant brooches I have ever seen.

She is dark and moody yet uplifting with the gorgeous rose cut diamond studded star to the centre, highlighted with black enamel on rich textured 15ct yellow gold.

To the centre of the star there is a single pearl and the outer rim features inky black onyx set with alternating diamond chips and creamy seed pearls.

The brooch fitting has been altered and a pendant bale added and this truly makes for a wonderful pendant but can be worn both ways so is very versatile.

Possibly created as a mourning piece but not necessarily as the dark aesthetic grew ever popular in the period.

A truly magnificent piece of Victorian jewelry.

Marks and era:
Star is converted from a brooch, unmarked, 19th century, Victorian era and tested as 15ct gold

Condition:
Good used condition overall with signs of use and wear commensurate with age, some very minor surface wear, adapted from a brooch, current brooch fitting with soft solder evident
