A truly handsome antique 9ct Rose gold monogram signet ring.
It has a rectangular shaped face finished in a royal blue enamel with an engraved monogram of initials in fancy gothic script, each letter has a different style of engraving.
It has a smooth polished 9ct rose gold band with a light D profile, the ring has rich rose gold tones to it.
It is a nice chunky ring with an unusual design this would make a perfect gift.
I love the rich rosey tones of the gold on this ring and how the Royal blue enamel really enhances that.
Signet rings derive their name from the Latin for signature, they were popular throughout history in men's jewellery and were often carved with family crests or signatures and used as stamps or intaglios, later they remained popular as a fashion choice and they have remained a popular piece of mens jewellery since their creation.
It is Unmarked but tested to 15ct gold, late Victorian era, c1890s
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some surface wear and surface scratches commensurate with age, some minor wear to the blue enamel.
Approx weight: 3.61g.
Ring face approx 11.6 mm length, 3mm band width.
UK/AU ring size M
US ring size 6
EU / MM ring size 51.87
