A beautiful and rare antique Victorian silver cross pendant.
This special piece is heavily engraved with various religious symbols to the front.
Amongst others there is Noahs Ark, The dove of peace carrying an olive branch, Saint Esprit and the symbols for faith hope and Charity.
There is a bright cut engraved line detailing and leaves and foliate.
The reverse is engraved with the motto; In Hoc Signo Vinces, this is a Latin phrase which when translated loosely translates to: In this (cross) thou shalt conquer.
It is also engraved with a date, some of which is worn away completely, the remaining reading 30th 1885.
It is a large piece yet hollow so lightweight and easy to wear.
A very unusual and unique piece, very possibly one of a kind.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some surface wear and signs of use commensurate with age.
Total weight 11.20 grams.
Approx measurements:
2.18" length with bale
1.31" width
0.20" depth
