Antique Regency heart padlock locket pendant, 9ct gold and Paste

How beautiful is this Antique Regency era heart padlock locket?!

Crafted in rich yellow gold it is a chunky, puffy style heart with an all over engraved design, the heart locket fastens as a padlock style and has an additional bale at the top.

The front of the locket has a beautiful floral, Forget me not flower design in relief and it is adorned with vary colour paste stones.

The reverse has a glazed locket back with a piece of silk inset.

Such a wonderful and beautiful antique piece, this would look great hung from a nice antique gold chain.

Hearts were very popular in the Georgian, Regency and Victorian eras and were often gifted as tokens of affection and romance, coupled with the forget me not flowers this makes for a very sentimental piece.

Unmarked electronically tests as 9ct gold, Regency era, c1820s

Condition:
Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, very well kept, some wear to the silk inside, two paste replacements.
